With diversity, equity and inclusion top of mind these days, North Shore ConneXions Society is one local organization that has been actively part of this movement for many years by supporting people with intellectual disabilities. The Organization offers a wide range of services with the purpose of ensuring access to resources and activities that engage individuals in meaningful, community-oriented programming while also offering support to their families.

North Shore ConneXions's mission is to support families and adults living with intellectual disabilities by providing quality programs and services which support the development, independence, and empowerment of adults, children, and families. The organization also advocates and develops community-based services that are fit for the unique needs of each person and family. North Shore's mission is a community where all people with disabilities have equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives and are recognized as contributing members of the community.

One of the programs North Shore ConneXions Society offers is Venture Enterprises, which is an entrepreneurial program where innovative individuals create businesses of their own with the assistance of their Vocational Trainers. These businesses, based out of North Shore ConneXions Society, provide reliable, efficient and necessary services & products to the community.

 

Envision Financial and Douglas College Community Building Program partners with North Shore ConneXions Society to develop an awareness increase marketing plan for the organization, as well as a marketing plan for the Venture Enterprise program. This partnership is of great value to both the Marketing students who can put their skills to work in a practical environment and to the organization which will benefit from the insights and suggestions students will provide.
